I will write a few lines talking about some facts about learning music at any age. Yes, at ANY age, means at absolutely ANY. No matter how old you are, anyone can make music. You just have to keep in mind your goals, and be aware of some limitations you might find because of your age and condition.
There are two mostly asked questions regarding the age of getting started with music instruction:
- How young is it possible to start at? I would say that to play an instrument the kid needs to be around 3-4 years old. Before that it is possible to enjoy and engage in musical activities but I would consider that stage a pre-instrumental phase.
- Is there a limit of age, where an adult cannot lear to play an instrument, to read music or sing? I would say "no", there is no limit. An adult CAN learn music also, but in most cases don't expect to become a virtuoso :)
